i have a pontiac sunbird that seems to be getting too much fuel its shooting black smoke out the exhaust idles rough and when you put it in gear it stalls out went throug hhalf a tank of gas to go about 30 miles and could only go about 15 mph any ideas what could be causing this i am stumped

Could be bad plugs/wires/coil, O2 sensor, injector(s) stuck open, ECM, etc...
Take it to a shop/person that has a 'real' diagnostic scanner that can view live data.
