Thursday -- water pump goes out.  Car is "repaired."  

Friday -- notice the temperature going up, but make it to work.  Come out of the office, start the car, press down the gas pedal, it goes limp (ie: won't raise up off the floor and give gas to engine...when you pick it up...it just collapses back down) and car won't start.  

Wednesday -- Mechanic has yet to come look at the problem...i'm thinking it has something do with poor repair job to water pump?  But I'm lost as to what is wrong with the gas pedal (or gas pedal cord)...

Anyone have any ideas?  Anyone heard of something like this?  

SO what happend?? What's the rest of the story?
