My '04 trailblazer has a bad speedometer and rpm, they won't work in the cold at all.  I'm getting ready to send a complaint about the cluster to chevy and I'm trying to get all the info I can on what's wrong. What's the problem with yours and, if it's all right, I'll add that to my complaints?

I have a 2004 Chev Impala. At about 44,000 miles the speedometer went wacky. Sticks at 120 mph, or is inaccurate by 20-30 mph. It can go anywhere at any time. I have read on other sites about this increasingly common problem. Dealers reccommend replacing cluster (very expensive). I read about a repair service that is on ebay, under speedometer repair service, in Bristol, Connecticut. He does a complete cleaning, and stepper motor replacement for a little over $100.00, with one day turn around service, and 100% positive feedback. He also sells stepper motor repair kits for about $25.00. Check it out. I plan to use this service for my repair. Others report that replacing the speedometer sensor is a very temporary fix, and problem will return in about 12 hours of use.

I have 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer and it too has bad speedometer, sticks at 120 or sticks at 20 to 30 mph.  I heard there was a recall but only certain models of chevrolet, I will be filing complaint as I would think most models are using same parts, dealership quoted me $600.00 to repair which I feel is ridiculous as they already know they have defects in this area.  If anyone has actually gotten Chevrolet to fix under recall let me know.
