I also have an 06 330xi my 2 front tires were replaced after just over 9k because they were creating such noise. Luckily my dealear told me they considered the tires defective and replaced them for me free of charge. I have now put 10k on the new tires and already have a bubble in one of them. When I took it in the told me it was considered a road hazzard and not covered, oh and by the way my two rear tires which only have 20k on them have no tread and also need to be replaced to the tune of over $1k. Amazing since my last car had low profile tire and I never once had a bubble and went through maybe two sets of tires in 85k miles.
Does anyone know it if is a problem to change to normal tires from the run flats, and does it effect your warranty at all if you go outside of BMW to get them?

I have a 2007 BMW 328xi and I have had consistent problems with the run flat tires on my car. I have just over 26K miles on it and I've ben through 6 tires and I'm on my to number 7. I just noticed today a large knot or bulge on on the side of the front right tire. These tires have been an absolute nightmare! I find the loud, rough and obviously have wear and tear issues. I find this unacceptable from a BMW.

I have a 2006 BMW with 26000 miles on Bridgestone run flat tires. Tires have been rotated twice, constantly monitor air and complained numerous time about the wear and loud tire hum. I am disgusted that BMW would allow such tires on the ultimate driving machines. Class action, I would be in for it all the way.

We have a 2004 Z4 with run flats. Never did like the ride or road noise. Needed new tires at 28,000 miles so I replaced them with regular Hancook tires and a can of Fix A Flat. Best move ever. MUCH better ride and much less road noise. Better handling tire too. Price was over half less and I can have the tire fixed and on my way if I do have a flat, unlike the run flats which have to be ordered as you can not fix them and nobody stocks them.

You may try looking at this website. They have a great selection of tires and they also do car repair. http://www.ntb.com.

Attention BWM & run flat tires owners: BMW Bulletin #360606 is a secret BMW memo to dealers, instructing them about the road noise. BWM will pay for new tires if you have less than 10,000 miles on them; they will pay 50% of the cost for less than 20,000 miles. They won't tell you about this - you have to ask. Warning to BMW owners - pay attention to your tires!

I have a 2010 BMW750Li with 5K miles. This car is top of the line cost over 100K. I am exhasted with the Dunlop run flats...the dealer said they will look into it, it sounds louder than any car I've ever driven. I traded in a 2007 750Li with run flat Michlens and did not have any problems, original tires with 39K. This new ride is all wheel drive and runs great but these tires make it no fun to drive. My wifes old 1997 328 with Bridgestones (not run flats) is a much better ride than this new car. Has BMW lost it's edge? I am very frustrated, does anyone have any knowledge of what can be done? I would take the run flats off, but guess what-BMW has no spare now!

I bought a 328I less than 2 weeks ago 18 inch sport wheels RFT,s (Bridgestone) CPO 07 after having my 5 series totaled in an accident last month, 20 minutes into my ride home car was jerking me around on the frwy, hand to get such a firm grip wanted to wander into somewhere I didn't, terrified I had to get into the exit lane and ride it out 25 miles from home, Sic, I have had it in less than 2 weeks to 4 places to have it checked, scared to go anywhere, I don't know what condition the roads will be like, awful, experience, finally took it to an independant tire dealer, who did a wheel alignment on it, has helped a little but not enough to have 1 good driving day, just thinking about having to go somewhere in that car drives my blood pressure -up, and the dealer where I bought it acts like they can't understand my concern, and they have never heard this before, I now call the car "Christine" cause she has a mind of her own 4 BMW's later I don't think I'll ever buy another one, BMW has just made my nightmare come true, this car behaves soo badly at times, its unreal, I will change the tires out ASAP, but not before I take it back to the dealer 1 more time and make him drive it with a couple of the higher up inside, excluding me at 70 on their local frwy, lets see how quickly they come back???

I have a 2007 Nissan Quest with Michelin run flat tires. I was lucky to get 36,000 miles on these tires, considering many other run flat tire owners were not so lucky. Nissan never disclosed the issue on these tires, nor have they told me I would have to spend $1,500.00- 2,000.00 every 1.5 years for tires. My tires have chunks of rubber coming off of them, and I was told not to drive my car by a reputable dealership for safety reasons. These tires are seriously defective!! I called 1800 Nissan1 to get some answers, but of course they pass the buck to Michelin. I did call Michelin and they gave me 5 numbers to call – all which lead me to either a fax number, or a non-existing number. I had to call back and kept them on the phone supplying me with more number to call until I was able to find a someone on my other line to service my Pax Tires. When I did get a hold of someone, I hung up with Michelin, but was told by the Pax Tire service that Michelin would not prorate a tire over 30,000 miles. Not to mention I would have had to drive my unsafe 2007 Nissan Quest 40 – 50 mins to get to this Pax tire service location. Only to order the Pax Tire and then come back to have them replaced. Not to mention the closest Nissan dealership does not replace these tires. They sell them but do not service them, does that make any since? At this point I was ready to just replace the Rim and Tires myself, but when I started calling around to four different Nissan dealers, I was told the stability/suspension of the car depended on these tires. That the way the car was built was solely around these tires for stability and safety, and I could roll the car if I put any other Rims and Tires on my Nissan. Not to mention if I were to do that, I would lose any warranty on the car if I replaced the rim and tires with something else other than Pax Tires. Now you can imagine my astonishment when I heard that. So, at this point I was stuck with a top of the line Vehicle with all the bells and whistles, but I cannot change these tires for any others to get out of this mess, and I would be stuck with paying $1500.00 – $2,000.00 for tires ever 1.5 year or less…ARE THEY OUT OF THERE FRICKEN MIND!!!! How can a manufacture build a car that is solely dependant on these one set of tires. I would have thought a car would be built on its own manufacturing credibility merit, and not on tires. For heaven sake what were they thinking? I don’t know how a company would be allowed to sell a car like this, and get away with it. As one person there is not much I can do against a giant. I would have thought the government would get involved to protect the American people from getting ripped off from a large auto manufacturing company like this. All I can do is GET RID OF this headache. I am going to get a TOYOTA. I WILL NEVER BUY NISSAN AGAIN! My son wants a Nissan Altima; I told him no he is going to have to look in the Toyota family because I will never buy Nissan again!!! My nephew is ready to buy a car, and I told him about my issues with Nissan, and I would help him with his purchase, as long as he stays away from all Nissan vehicles, and he is going to buy Toyota. I have told my co-workers of my issue and showed them all the issue everyone has had by everyone’s online posts. Two of my co-workers that were thinking about going to Nissan changed their minds and went with another dealership. I am only one person, but I know many people. Nissan Manufactures are not the only ones at fault, Michelin is equally at fault for selling poorly made tires, but for a car manufacture to sell a car based only around these PAX Tires…really all they were looking at is the marketing aspect to SELL, SELL, SELL, and not the consumer who were buying them. But of course Nissan denies any wrong doing, and they just pass the buck to Michelin when I called the 1800 Nissan1 number. Good Bye NISSAN - NEVER AGAIN will I walk into your doors, and if I can help it none of my family members, friends, church friends, and their friend and family will be deceived by a company that does not own up to its mistakes and will n

I purchased my first BMW (X5-used) a month ago and I haven't even driven it for 1,000 miles and I already got a flat. This is very dissappointing to know that I have to spend money on a new tire and it's only been a month. BMW is a rip off! They claim it's the "ultimate driving machine"...I just don't see how. Now I think I should've bought the infinti!

Same problem, I had two large bubbbles on one front tire and three on the other, my BMW 135i was only one month old when the first bubble occurred. BMW told me not covered, dealer also said not covered, so replaced the two front as they said I could die otherwise. Goodyear Dunlop after I sent a letter refused to reimburse me but said if I went to one of their shops, they would have replaced the tires. I am suing both companies in small claims court, what did you do?

The deal with 2003 BMW Z4 run-flats is that they only are meant to last about 10,000 miles. Period. I have had both Michelin and Bridgestone. BMW says that they had a recall for cupping tires and tires losing pressure on the 18" wheel models and that was due to the snug tires not being installed properly. The other problem is that a trusted tire person that does not know the car, cannot rotate the backs and fronts due to 2 differnet sizes, fronts are 235/40R 18 88W and rears are 255/25R 18 90W. This time I ran over the 10,000 miles and blew a rear tire and no, run flats do not run well flat. So I had wanted to get Toyo's new NON-runflats but since my store would have to order them, I had to take the Sumitomos they luckily had in stock. Looking forward to testing these new skins out this weekend!

I am about to turn in a leased 2009 X5. I would not touch a car with RFT tires. If you replace them through BMW they will cost nearly $1750 for 4 tires. Almost no tire dealers stock them and some do not even have access to them (Pep Boys). The car came with Michelen RFTs, which was recently on 5 week B/O. What good does it do to have a flat and limp to a station or tire dealer who does not stock the tires? Buy a non RFT which you have to replace? BMW claims they now have a "spare option" for the RFT tires. How much? This option is not listed on any BMW website I can find. My next car (on order) is an Audi Q5. Great reviews.
