Less than a year ago we replaced the timing belt (kinda expensive) and now the belt is broke again. There is also oil where the spark plugs are. One spark plug was completely broken into. I'm assuming something else is causing my timing belt to break because we just had this repaired. Any idea what is causing this? Why and where is the oil coming from in the spark plugs. What would cause a spark plug in break into. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the engine. A valve could be bent. The plug broke (phisical damage) because somthing hit it and that means the engine neads rebuilding or replacement.

several things can cause your timing belt to wear prematurly ,overtightened, debris from previous belt, bad idler or tensioner pullys,im having a hard time remembering, but if your spark plugs go down through the valve cover, you just need new gaskets if the plug broke when the belt broke, you may have some pretty bad damage, needs to be thourghly inspected

About two weeks ago while driving, the car started making a loud banging noise, after inspection-one spark plug was broke into (literally).I also notice a small amount of oil where the spark plug goes. We replaced the spark plugs and the car drove and sounded fine. Three days ago the timing belt broke again. We are trying to decide wether or not to get it fixed or buy another. The car doesn't smoke and has otherwise only needed regular maintenence.
