I just replaced the ignition module on a 1984 ford ranger (happened before) after sitting for 2 months since it died on the freeway. Still won't start. I have battery charger on start so it's cranking over great. Used starter fluid still no joy. Is there some other electrical thing I am missing that needs to be checked? When the truck died... it was a warm day , not hot. The truck stuttered and died.... after a few minutes it started again and away I went.. about 8 miles on freeway and it died again and this time for good.
I did not replace distributor cap or rotor..it looked ok.
Any thoughts ??

Have you verified that the plugs are actually firing?
