Took my 2004 Volvo S60 to the dealer the other day because the headlight was out. Out of warraty, so they quoted me a ridiculous amount for a new bulb and balast.
Took it is mechanical friend of mine to take a look.
He switched the balasts and the bulbs and found that the balasts are fine since both balasts work. Replaced the bulb, but the light still won't work on the passeger side only.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

Did you check for the fuse that corresponds to that side? Do you have an after market system install for example an alarm system. Check the wiring that leads to that bulb if possible. It might also be your headlight switch.

Dropped by a dealership and had them look at it. They say its a bad balast. Anyone know where to get a used balast?
