The lights on the button controls for the rear defogger, rear wiper and washer and air conditioning on/off all flash on off for about 10 minutes then go out, but come back on flashing when I restart the van. All of these controls work fine except for the flashing lights which are more of an irritant than anything else. The dealer says the heater controls are actually a computer, a new one is about $700. Service say it is the heater computer trying to reset itself after the battery was disconnected (which it was). They can reset it for about $40 which ain't bad except I hate to pay $40 every time I need to disconnect the battery for some repair if I can learn how to do it myself. I'm told there is a code to reset these controls. Anyone know what the code is and how to input it???

It is a computer, it first needs to go into diagnostic mode and check for dtcs, make sure that the refrigernt charge is full and blower motor works on all settings, if this is ok then follow this sequence
-Start engine and bring to full operating temp
-Set Blower motor ON HIGH
-Set Mode position to Panel
-Open all A/C outlets
-Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if equipped)
Depress WASH and REAR WIPER button simultaneously for 5 Seconds (Until all LED's light)
It will then go through diagnostic tests, if it passes all wil be fine, if not it will flash any DTCs and you will need to go from there
