I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me with certainty which year VW automatic transaxle will bolt up to the existing '87 engine in my '87 Cabrio (rabbit). I would be willing to replace the engine and trans as a unit as long as they have the same injection system, intake, etc. Would prefer to go up to a 2.0, maybe even a twin cam.

Anyone know? The current configuration is a 5 spd.
