For a few months now my car (110,000km) has ocasionally been shifting hard into 'drive'. Now it is becoming more frequent, and through more gears. It always happens if I start to decelerate and then speed up again. I took it to a tranny shop where they test drove it while hooked up to their computer. They said it was shifting at the right RPM's and no faults were indicated, however he noticed the ocassional jerky shift. On the highway he said he felt a bit of an engine 'miss' or shudder, and said that it could be causing the problem, so recommended a tune-up (I thought he was going to recommend a new transmission!) Now with the cold mornings when i put my car into drive, it sits there and slips for about 3-7 seconds before moving. My question is: could this be the torque converter, or is there an electrical module or sensor that would cause this? Or should I take it in for a tune-up and mention the tranny problem? Vic
