I have a 2004 Malibu and took it to the local dealership yesterday because it was making clunking noises while driving slow and making turns (right and left), turning into parking spots, etc. The dealership replaced the rack and pinion unit today, and I complained to the service rep that the unit shouldn't failed when the car only has 60,000 miles, most of which are highway miles. He couldn't give me an asnwer as to why the unit failed so soon. Is anyone else having the same problem with their Malibu?
