I have a 2002 dodge intrepid with a DTC code of P0700. With this code the check engine light comes on and the transmission will not shift into the higher gears. Once the code is cleared the transmission works fine until the light comes on again, approx. 10 miles or so. Is there some type of sensor starting to fail? Thanks, Joe.

DTC P0700 IS A TRANS CODE, YOU NEED TO READ THE TRANS CONTROLLER TO FIND THE TRANS CODE,YOU PROBABLY HAVE AN OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR BAD,BUT YOU NEED TO HAVE THE CODE READ.

I was a salesman driving 50K a year and have had 24 chryslers. I retired a fiew years ago and do not drive much now so my 2000 300M only has 54K on it. The transmission on my last concord had problems ultil they replaced the computer but the 300M trany just failed and the dealer charged $2400 to rebuild it. Thids just does not make sense since it got only light use.
Is there anything inheriently wrong with this trany? I will get rid of it if there is but isn't it the same trany as concord?
