Ok so I have a 1995 V6 engine Pontiac Firebird. It has about 140,000 miles on it hasn't been to much of a headache excpet for the normal things that go on cars with time. Although as of late I have had numerous things lead back to antifreeze leaking from the car.
1-First time I brought it to my mechanic he fixed the following (it was leaking oil and antifreeze and had a hole in the muffler pipe, not to mention was overheating and I had no heat) WHAT GOT FIXED -rear intake manifold gaskets -rear dist. shaft and seal -rear valve cover gaskets -oil filter -thermostat -muffler pipe -distributor cap -and something about the coolants freezing the engine block causing no flow of the coolant to the engine
2-A few weeks passed and the car was running great. He cleaned out the cataliter converter and it all seemed perfect. Then the water pump broke and I had more anit freeze leaking. WHAT GOT FIXED -water pump
3-Now after everything seeming fine again there is no heat yet again and a small anti freeze leak yet again. I'm going to bring it to the same guy on Friday morning. But my questions is what could it be this time.
Could this be something wrong with the head gasket? Which I'm hoping is not the case as many people say if it is its time to get a new car. Anybody have any advice, tips, knowledge?
