What up guys im new to the site so if this post is out of line let me know. I recently blew an engine on a 2002 isuzu rodeo. It appears to have thrown a rod. Im hearing a lot of mechanics gripe about this engine. Im trying to find out if anyone has info on this engine and have heard the statements i have. The motor is a 3.2 24 valve dohc. The reason im trying to find out is the manufacture wouldnt honor my waranty unless i paid the 600 dollars to take the engine out and inspect it.

I looked for recall data that matched your problem and found something else. Just thought you might want to look at this also, although it's not related to the question.

nothing that seems likely to throw a rod

I?m going on a long shot here......

maybe you developed these small pin holes in your fuel pump feed port which leaked air into your lines and caused your engine to run lean, creating pre-ignition detonation which ultimately lead to the thrown rod.
