Has anyone experienced any problems with dodge products being broken into with no signs of forced entry and the car was locked at the time? Someone has attempted to "hotwire" my 2005 dodge caravan 2x in the last 3 days. HELP!

Hello:
I know I am posting this almost two years after you wrote your message on this blog. I have had the same problem twice in the last eight months. I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan. It was broken into three weeks ago and somebody tried to steal it. They mesed up the entire steering column and popped out the ignition switch thinking they could drive off with it. The thing is the vehicle has an antitheft system as they can get into it but cannot start it and drive off with it. I feel your pain and frustration. Chrysler needs to modify the steering column on these vans with a steel covering that cannot be broken into. Easier said than done though. That's what we get dealing with American manufactured autos. Another pain about this is the cost to replace it. Only a dealer can fix it due to the replacement and repogramming of the sensor codes in the column. My insurance is paying for it; but enough is enough. I think I will look at a cheaper car to purchase and just keep the van in my garage with my club on it.
