I have a 97 honda civic EX with AC (and auto. trans) and was wondering what else I can do to preserve the AC system and keep it running good. The car is obviously 9 years old now, and has 104k on it, and the AC runs great, and I'd like to keep it that way as long as I can (I know that changing the AC compresor, for example, is a big pain and big expense).
What actions can I take to help preserve my AC system in my car (other than using it at least once per week for a few minutes to help keep the lubricating oils flowing)?
(I mean, the parts from a physical (and visual) stand point, look fine... no exessive rust or build up on any of the components in the engine. Hoses look good too, no noticable cracks or leaks or loose fittings.)

I dont think there is any way to make sure the ac system stays cold. A/C systems generally dont cool as well because there is a leak or a clog somewhere.
