I've been reading reports that this SUV's too slow on the take off. Anyone experienced that? It's not a Porsche Cayenne but I'm not expecting a Buick Rainier.

The XC90 is a fine, well-crafted, and satisfying SUV. Words that I have not heard are used to characterize many SUV's, especially the haphazard Rainier. But I think the problem here is the pricing. The auto is very well-engineered, no real surprise there, but it starts near $40,000! That's pretty much in the price range of an M-Class, X3/X5, and even within spitting distance of the base Cayenne. Chances are that if people are willing to spend that kind of money on an SUV, most will probably opt for the more ostentatious choices. I see this situation in the same view as that which is slowly determining the fate of the exquisite VW Phaeton: Great car, wrong price range for the marque.

buy a Ford escape since Ford owns Volvo anyway buy an escape for almost half of that.I own a 2007 its got a 3liter v6 plenty of acceleration.
