I have a 97 Dodge Pickup that is having a heat issue. The Truck is running at a good temp but the heater when at full blast is only blowing luke warm air. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, also if they can give me a few steps to follow on getting it fixed. I didn't want to jump to conclusions and put in a heater core, Plus isn't the passenger side rug usually wet when heater cores go bad...?????? All help is appreciated.

Need to make sure your cooling system is full and if your truck has a heater control valve, that it is functioning properly. It may be located under the hood on the heater hoses and works off of engine vacuum.

Get your motor up to temp nice and hot. Check both sides of lines going to her core should be fairly even. 10-15 degree difference. If not try flushing the heater core. Dis-connect lines to core. CLR work's great. Takes away all deposit's . Might need new thermo stat. Check coolant first to see if it's up first.
