From initial start in first gear the car takes off fine. When it goes to shift from 1st to 2nd.....the engine jumps approx: 1,000 RPM...then after 1 to 2 seconds.....2nd gear will catch. Once in gear....the truck accelerates fine and there is no slipping. The same effect happens between 2nd and 3rd gear. Also, when I'm in high gear and I accelerate enough to downshift.....it will do the same effect. Lastly, Reverse works great...when I initially put it in gear as well as when I accelerate there is no slippage. I changed the Filter, Fluid with ATX-4,and adjusted the bands, and I still have the same problem.

Is your Throttle Pressure cable hooked up and adjusted? Early, soft/slipping shifts can be caused by a broken cable end or misadjusted cable. This cable connects the transmission to the throttle body and controls trans pressure rise. No press rise will burn up a trans.
