I've got a 95 GMC C1500 with a L460E transmission. As long as I've owned this truck, been under it around it and owned since about 96 I NEVER noticed a rubber hose connected in-line right against the outer bell housing.Yesterday I lost about 5 qts. of fluid while driving. When I looked under the passenger side I then notice this hose with two clamps. One on top and bottom.ODD I thought for a pressure line.Someone must have cut this line before I owned it and I never saw this till now.
I've looked all over the net/autoparts stores, specialtiy stores and what not and CANNOT find this line. Its the upper radiator cooling line passenger side.I dont want to go to the dealer and find out this aluminum line is gonna cost me an arm and leg.Does anyone know of a website or autoparts store where I can find at least a straight line? Its a 3/8 I think.havent measured yet.But If I could get a straight line I've got the benders, flairing tools to make a line.PLZ HELP

Go to your favorite after market parts store and purchase some ready made steel brake line.
It comes in various lengths.
Get the kind with a steel coil wrapped around the exterior.
It can be bent very easily without kinking and the steel coil will prevent holes from abrasion.
You can connect the ends with rubber cooler hose and clamps.
Make sure the rubber hose specifies cooler line.
Anything else won't work.

Thanks for the info. That was a consideration I had in mind when I was looking under the truck today.I noticed the brake lines are the same size. The problem I got with the rubber hose deal is I dont want to experience the rubber wearing out again over time.It just wont hold up like hard line. But I do think the brake line will work.Hopfully I wont have to bend it to much. But hey!If I got a brake line for the rear of my truck it would be a long straight section I could work with. You know down the frame under the bed is a long section. That would be great. Now all I need is the fitting screw. Its a really hard place to get to.Its very little room at the top but luckily not the very top.I would cut it long to make room for leaks. Then if the connection leaks cut again.
