Consumer Reports has listed the Hyundai Sonata the most reliable car. Who would believe it? Hyundai has received a lot of crap in the past for producing, well...not the best quality of cars. But hey, I have a Hyundai and I really can't complain. The car runs great and gets me from A to B, which is fast enough to get me to work on time.

Ya, I saw that... Oops. Well, maybe this topic needs two threads going. It truly is amazing what Hyundai is doing.

I think that Hyundai has proved that with hard work and engineeting that you can come from worst to first in a short period of time. This is also why its so sad that more american cars and especially british cars arent better quality. GM has had some coups lately where they have had great quality - but look at Ford. Quality is job one my arse. Then they go compound the error and pick up Jaguar who had good quality this year vbut has to overcome 50 years of bad quality and reputation for more time on side of the road than driving

One more thing this bears out is what a joke it is that Mercedes quality has dropped since the Chrysler merger -talk about buying something and then ruining it! It is just awful has happened to DCX - if I told you 5 years ago that Hyundai would have better quality than Mercedes you would have laughed - if I said this 10 yrs ago when Hyundai was selling Excels for $4995 I would have been thrown into jail. To all you businesspeople out there - this is why constant and consistent execution ALWAYS wins out in the end.

That's not really fair blame; Mercedes was the one who bought Chrysler.

If you think about it, Hyundai is making an impact. [even on me] Because I have a WIDE variety of car makes i like, but not Hyundai. Now, after reading a few reviews, seeing the 'My favorite TV show interupting' commercials, I've grown a moderate liking for the Hyundai Santa Fe.

Hmmm I wouldnt have thought it naturally. That said Skodas had a terrible reputation till a few years ago but they're now consistently the most reliable cars in UK & EUrope now...
