Hello, I need to remove the dashboard cover around the stereo/ac control unit on my pontiac grand prix gt2. long story short I need to put back the black cover that goes underneath the steering wheel, to do that I need to remove the forementioned cover. I dont really want to pay the dealer another 75 bucks just to put back something they pull apart. If anyone knows how to do it or could point me to a site where I can find instructions it would be greatly appreciated.

I had removed a dashboard on a grand am to change out a switch just by getting a screwdriver and taping the tip (to not scratch anything) prying gently around the edge. it will pop off.. starting at the sides... Otherwise a good place to find instructions would be www.alldata.com .. you can get a subscription or get info for the day. Try doing a search on ebay for the factory service manual for your specific car.

remove the ket snap cover, some have screws by cluster and under knee blocker bracket...remove screws and the rest is just pressure clips...you do not need to remove this to install the lower steering colum shroud however
