Noticed water in the passenger footwell...2" of it covering the wiring in the footwell. Aslo wet under seat and in the back Passenger side only. Seems to be wet along the side by the doors. The sponge part of the carpet had soaked most of the water up so took ages to dry. Have dried out carpet and hosed jeep for 30 minutes. No Leaks. Is it the A/C and if so where and how do I fix....
Have noticed in the footwell under the wiring 3 holes covered with a seal. Looks like a square piece of tape. If I drilled these (or could push something through)it would drain the water away if it happens again but would it let rain in from underneath? I think it's a bit dangerous when the wiring is soaked in water!!!
Please help....as my local dealer has no suggestions except it could cost £££££!!!

Had similar with my last 1998 2.5 td although not as much water! It was a leaking heater matrix. You could see a water stain on the tunnel carpet near the far end of the footwell. Does your heater work well, do you have to top up your coolant....could be that the heater matrix is leaking? I put some rad-weld in my coolant and it sealed it but then couldn't get much heat from the heater. Phil
