I had the E22 recall done on 10/19/06  for my 1996 Grand Cherokee and 1 day following the work performed by the Jeep 5 ***** dealer the Check Engine light was on and my gas consumption almost doubled.  I stopped back on 10/21/06 to report the issue and was blasted with “It’s not our responsibility and the diagnostic charges are my responsibility” I was FIRED UP and called the Service Manager on 10/23/06 basically the same story but I insisted that the car was fine before the so called recall and now the car has two problems.  After a heated discussion where I told him that the computer re-programming had caused the problems they sent two guys to pick up the car at my work.  Two hours later I was told that they were going to replace the catalyc converter at no charge but the CO2 sensor was now bad and will need to be replaced at my cost of $120.00 plus tax.  This is a typical case of going to the doctor for a checkup and walking out with a tumor needing immediate attention and my money to pay for his expensive lifestyle.  Beware the next time a recall notice is sent to you and your vehicle is running fine…  And what so interesting is that the recall is for a car 10 years old…
