Ok all,
I have a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon w/ 156k miles on it.
Just got this car over the summer. Previous owner said AC didn't work - so I didn't try it. It's just my beater car anyway.
Since my last fill up, it's been a little cold, so I've been running the heater. No problems there either - runs you out of the car it's so hot !!
Here's the issue, I noticed that no matter which position the vent is in (defrost, feet, etc.) the light on the AC button comes on. Furthermore, when I turn the blower on, it acts just like it should IF I turned on the AC - headlights dim, engine bogs down but only for a second or 2.
The BIG difference I noticed is the gas mileage DROPPED from 30 to 25mpg !!!
I'm thinking about pulling the AC fuse (since it doesn't work anyway - out of R22).
Anyone have any better ideas??
Thanks !
