I was reading some peoples personally reviews of the 350z and came across some bad ones. Although there are more good reviews then bad, I hate this car and really just trying to find some dirt on it.
Review 1 The Nissan 350Z Touring has great performance and it's a beauty on the road. However, I had my transmission replaced at 15,000 miles, my bearings and hub malfunctioned, the rear wiper motor died and I am still visiting the dealer on a regular basis to resolve a rolling mechanical sound (at slow speed) at the front of the car. I have not had a chance to enjoy my car as I spend more time visiting the dealer service center for repairs.
Review 2 The abnormal tire wear is not an alignment problem from the factory (Nissan). It is a front end/suspension design flaw.
I have had my tires replaced and realigned at 6,700 miles, then at 12,500 miles and 17,300 miles
Review 3 When trying to accelerate as fas as possible, the car does not seem to respond as it should. Don't get me wrong the car is great, but not quite what it should be for a 287hp sports-car. Shifting is not as smooth as expected. Th factory installed radio (not Bose) and rear Clarion speakers are in no way what this car should have. The front door speakers are great.
review 4 The 350Z is all-in-all a good car, but Nissan still needs a little more fine tuning in order to get it to where it should be. It is a great car for highway driving, but not so great for city driving (stop and go). I am not sure what it is with the shifting, but it does not come close that of an Acura TL. On the positive side it has great handling, comfortable interior, and the mpg is not bad at all.
Thats all I could find for now

I am sure you can find dirt on just about anything if you look hard enough, its not really fair to single out one car because of a few sour personal experiences, I have had nothing but good experiences with the Z
but nothing is perfect - true there are things nissan could have done better on with it but overall I think its a great car

Haha, where did this hatred towards the Z evolve from?? I thought I was one of the few who disliked them. With my personal experience (valet), Z's are awful to drive. While driving the car, it is very hard to feel its size since most of its panels are outside your viewing area. I remember when I had to park my first Z, I thought it was a small car... boy was I wrong. I came inches from swiping into a parking structure pillar.
Also, I ran into my neighbor a few months ago and he told me that he loved his new Z and how its the best car he's ever had. I laughed and told him that I'd ask him how his Z was in a year. His Z has been in the shop 3 times for drivetrain issues.

Most of the problems are with the earlier 350z's. Once you get to 05 and 06 there is really nothing to worry about.

I think Z's are awesome sports cars... aside from the reliability issues that were fixed by the later gen Z's.
You cant expect anyone to get it right the first time, but Nissan fixed it, the Z is a very solid car now.

Just bought a brand new Z Touring and the Bose System is not as it should be. I compared it to my friends sound system who drives a 05' Grand Touring Convertible and it is WAY louder and the sound quality is much better. I noticed it after two weeks. I would have the volume on 6 and couldn't here anything. Put it on 16 and it sounds like it's on 7. My friend and I have the same manufactured system, at least that's what the papers say. Can anyone tell me why that is? I am thinking I got a bum deal.

I can't speak for the new 350Z but I'm pretty sure Top Gear did an episode several years ago on the RX-8 and the 350Z.
Seems the Z's and the RX's have been in competition since the late 70's with the old datsun 250 Z's before they were picked up by Nissan and the 1st gen RX-7's.
Anyway in Top Gears opinion the 350 was nicer on the outside and the RX-8 was an ugly car with an identity crisis that couldn't figure out whether it was a roadster, a family sedan, or a sports car. But in terms of power, handling, and performance they gave all credit to the RX-8.
