Hi Everyone,
I'm not very car savvy, but I'm having problems so I hope someone can help. I have a Stick shift 2000 Hyundai Tiburon that just started dieing out. It usually happens about once or twice a day in the afternoon or at night time. It will die out sometimes while I'm stopped and idling and sometimes it will happen while driving and I'm turning a corner with the clutch pressed in. Also, my gas mileage has been very bad as of late. I used to get about 28 miles per gallon and now I'm only getting about 20 miles per gallon. I took the car in to the dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. Hopefully someone here can help me cause I'm getting frustrated with this stinkin car.
Thanks a lot!

First start with the basics, do you change your fuel filter regularly ? Regular filter changes are important with fuel injection.Forget what the owners manual says about changing it, to do it "when the car lacks power and you cannot accelerate as you wish ".I'm talkin every 12-15k miles religiously. Are you feeling a loss of power too ?

Hi Vandy,
Thank you for your response. I haven't noticed any loss of power when I drive the car. I did have my fuel filter changed when I reached 60,000 miles. I am now at 70,000 so it shouldn't be the fuel filter. Got any other suggestions?

Are you getting a strong spark at the plugs ? Has your car thrown any codes ? Could also be a faulty oxygen sensor, check for spark and codes first. How long has this problem been going on for ?
