The reverse went out on my 2002 Yukon and Iam looking for a little advise. I can pick a used 4L60E from a 98 Sierra Pickup will this work for my Yukon. I hate to ask ... but need any help possible.

Thanks

Matt

Might better take it to a good tranny shop and have it rebuilt if needed. Otherwise you could be looking at the same problem shortly. Sounds like a busted sunshell.

the sunshell is the culprit and a hardened shell is only 30 dollars, chances are the rest of the transmission is in good shape

our reverse went out for the 2nd time. According to Technical service BulletinNbr 00-07-30-022c There is a kit that goes in it not just the shell.  The bullentin also states all worn parts should be replaced. this time we went with a replacement transmission. hoping it will last longer than the 2 years. If you do a little reseach you'll find you're not the only one with this problem and since there are service bullentins out and have been out since 2003, with constant updates about these transmissions you may not want to use the other one either.  the bulletin states 1993-2005 light duty trucks too. If you want a copy of this bullentin email me at Rlefd44@aol.com. also better add that it says if all metal and worn parts aren't replaced you're subject to this happening again.
