I changed a 2006 Touring over to the 16 " EX alloy rims and energy 4x tires that come on the EX. You have to use the Touring tire pressure sensors, not the EX sensors. I have had mime for over a year and no problems. It cost about $1800 out the door. The spare complete cost about $200.

Not true, I have the EX rims and tires with the Touring tire pressure sensors for over a year and they work great. $1800 plus spare for $200.

JOIN LAWSUIT AGAINST HONDA! On March 6, 2007, a Complaint was filed against American Honda Motor Company, Inc. and Michelin North America, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Central District of California under California state law (“California federal court”). The Complaint can be read at: http://sfmslaw.com/pages/cases.php?id=343

This law firm will not allow you to "join" their suit. I contacted a person at the firm and they said its because they were in settlement talks. Call and do the same B Ferling at Slepper Fink Miller and Sha 860-526-1100 I contacted another law firm and they said their lawsuit was dismissed and being appealed. Both lawfirms are referring to a suit by the same complainant- and the same suit. Someone is lying. These are class action lawfirms- only the lawyers win. They only named two or three plaintifs, and one withdrew. Why wouldn't they seek all plaintifs?

To paxhater- Why would you purchase a Michelin tire after the trouble the other ones caused you. Go to tire rack in the future and read the reviews. You will find a better tire at a better price.

The idea of doing this trade in idea will cost about 15000 minimum due to the present value of the vehicle, and probably alot more because there is no current market for used cars.

Does anybody have a picture of a TPMS? The tire pressure monitoring system device located in the tire. I was just interested what it looked like and how it was attached.
Found a commercial support comparison for selling or purchasing PAX or LX Honda rims online.
http://www.wheelsandcaps.com/w_selection.asp?_SUPPLIERSKU=ALY63887U&WandCRETURN=&_YEAR=2005&_MAKE=HONDA&_MODEL=ODYSSEY
Also found a great spot to compare what aftermarket rims would look like.

The dealers are defiantly not working with the Honda mfg. Honda's “(Expert's)” support in California, they have no clue how they are being screwed by their own dealerships. There are a lot of other problems with this car, not just tires on the Touring Model. Many things you just cant talk about. Buying the Touring for the Navigation, TV, rear monitor, subwoofer, heated seats, heated mirrors, leather etc and not knowing what a TPMS run flat headache really was, is my fault I read on this blog. I hope to never buy another.

Just bought a used 2005 touring and after reading the forum, it made me realized that I made a wrong purchasing decision. Does anyone know of a good place to go to have the tires de-pax out here in the DC area?

Wow, this does not sound good for you. I was able to get my dealer to replace my wheels with nice aftermarket ones, tires, and a space saver spare for the cost of new Pax tires. BTW, Michelin gave me 50% credit for my old Pax tires that had 33,000 miles on them.

Which wheel from TIRE RACK did you buy? I was able to work through my dealer who worked through TIRE RACK and they replaced my wheels, tires, TPMS and a new space saver spare for the cost of a new set of Pax tires. Michelin threw in a 50% credit for my old Pax tires that had 33,000 miles on them. But I think you made a mistake in putting the 16inch wheels and tires on your Odyssey. They are supposed to be 17 inch. Putting 16 inch on throws off your speedometer and odometer. Did you think about that?

I recently replaced my pax tires, rims & sensors & also purchased a donut spare tire & rim for a total of $1700.00 the dealer wanted 2700.00 with only factory grade tires plus I would have to get the spare donut that they could not furnish. My 2006 Odyssey had 27000 miles and the pax tires were wore out. The van handles great and I will get at least 65,000 miles with this set of tires. I have all the info. you need to make the switch over. e-mail jomac311@sbcglobal.net

I just DEPAX my 2006 Odyssey - it's a bit pricey overall - but my dealer said using any rims besides Honda rims "May" void the warranty. I bought the new 2009 Honda Ridgeline rims and all the goodies to go with it from College Hills Honda - I wish I could post a picture on this post - It really looks good.
http://www.collegehillshonda.com/honda_odyssey_accessories/05_07_odyssey_exterior.htm
Code Name Quantity Price/Ea. Total--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DEPAX0506 Odyssey DePAX Kit for 05-06 Models 1 $0.00 $0.00 DEPAXSPARE $187.16 $187.16 TPMS0506 $146.64 $146.64 LUGS0708 $67.40 $67.40 Wheel_Code: DEPAX09R $913.22 $913.22 Shipping:UPS Ground: $96.26 Sales Tax: $0.00 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Total: $1,410.68
I then went to a Firestone/Bridgestone Tire shop and bought this size tire - P235/55 R18 Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza 65000 mile tire. $781.96 plus mounting and balancing (lifetime free balancing and tire rotations)
* Please note I varied from the size recommended by College Hills Honda - simply because I did not want to get locked into a single tire brand and size again. That sort of deafeats the purpose. Firestone did a price match for me against Discount Tire. It looks and drives great now and it's quieter (I think LOL - I have a 6 yr and 3yr old - so it's never really "quiet"). Also based on the 18" wheel and this particular tire size I was told this combination keeps the overall wheel diameter with 1/10" of the OEM touring wheels and tire - so no Odometer concerns to deal with.
I also joined into the class action lawsuit and if I'm lucky and Honda would like for me to ever consider buying another car from them - I would like to think they would help me with the cost of this DEPAX and I will politely give them back the originals - I thought it wise to keep them for now.
I'm taking the family on a long road trip over the holidays and really needed to replace two of my PAX tires right away, my first two tires were replaced out at about 26k miles - oddly enough I have 38k miles now and the last two tires from the original set were finally done (strange). Of course the first two replacement tires are probably within 10k miles or less of being in need of replacement once again. So I don't believe it is our driving style that causes the quick wear outs. I was absolutely sure to stay away from any tires with the Michellin brand on it
I hope this helps anyone else.
Later
Kirk
