Hi all, I've got a 2003 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4, 4.7L V8, Auto, 64k miles. I've now had the vapor recovery system replaced, the on board engine control computer replaced 3 times (!), the thermostat replaced, the temp gauge replaced, and both the exhaust system and the wiring checked several times. My symptom is that the check engine light comes on often, the check gauges light comes on often, the temp gauge shows overheat often, there is a tremendous amount of exhaust smell, and the truck gets dreadful mileage.
Any ideas about what could be wrong? I need to at least get it repaired enough to sell. Thanks,
John

Depending on the DTCs set I have run into many many underhood wiring harness problems...I worked with Dodge for many years and my guess is you need an underhood wiring harness....very very common...this of couse is just a guess...but have seen it
