I took my car to a rapid lube for a oil change and after driving my car only three time afterwards, it died.  I went about three miles and then when I turned the car back on after going into a restaurant, the check engine light started flashing and then it starting jerking and making a clicking noise.  After that initial horrible sound I pulled behind a building and checked the oil and there was no sign of oil on the stick...... My brother heard the car and the tow truck guy checked the car and they concluded without even going any further that my engine was gone.  I cant even start my car.  I called the company yesterday and today and the manager said that getting an oil change could not have messed my car up.  The fact is, there was nothing wrong with my car before I went to them.  They are supposed to send a rep. on tomorrow but i still think that it is their fault.

They could have very easily forgo to put oil in the car, and that for sure would kill your engine.  If they (the quick lube company) is sending a rep to look at your car, you should also invite a knowledgeable mwchanic that you trust as a third party.

Good luck.

The could have also change the filter and the seal remained trying to seal 2 seals on the oil filter then you would have leaked the oil out or One other thing the oil filter had a small hole in it.

The may have simply forgot to put oil in the tank in general or put in the wrong kind, other than what your car can handle. If a rep is coming by explain to him that the car worked fine on the way there, and only 10 minutes after leaving there you checked the oil and it appeared empty, also bring a trusted mechanic for your back up.

I have seen one case of the oil being removed and no new oil put in. It was years ago at a Honda dealer. Fortunately the owner alerted them to the fact that there was no oil as the red oil light came on before leaving the dealership and no damage was done.
Good Luck

You do not say what the vehicle is but if it is a newer vehicle I'd haul it to the local dealer for an inspection. I have heard of oil filters not being installed tight enough and also having the wrong oil filter installed causing the seal to leak. One person had the oil filter fall off two blocks from the oil change place. The shop would not repair their vehicle. I hate to say it but if this is a high dollar vehicle get a lawyer. Good luck.
