My Subaru Legacy 1992, AWD, no turbo vehicle is a little sick, but only once it is warm! On cold start the Engine hums beautifully, but only starts the knock knock knock once the engine is fully warm...
All I have read is that it should be the other way around, so perhaps the clearances are adjusted to be too tight for the cold start?
Advice would be much appreciated,

were is the knock coming from...upper end or lower end...might want to plastigauge the bearings...but i would definitely start by finding the area in which the noise is coming from.
