Hi, I own a 2006 VW jetta and currently is stock, I am interested in buying it some nwe wheels, and I am looking at a set of HP evolution rims, 18", do you recommend that brand? how about quality? any issues with them? and also what tyres doy you reckon will work well with them? I am looking for some long lasting tyres with decent performance preferly around 1200 dls for the combo (wheels-tyres).
any help will be much appreciated, cheers

I don't have any experience with HP Racing wheels, and I couldn't really find any info on them good or bad. All I could find is that they are a cast one piece wheel. I couldn't find a weight for the Evo, but I am going to guess they would be around 25lbs. You will notice a little decrease in acceleration, braking, gas mileage and ride comfort, but turn in will be better and you will have more grip in most situations.
I have BFGs KDWs on my Beetle 1.8t right now in a 17" and really I have been very happy with them. I have always been a Yokohama fan, but these BFGs have really surprised me. They ride nice, they're quiet, I suspect they will last longer than most Yoks, and if you watch for specials, you can get them at a great price.
