What happens when flushing the radiator and transmission and how often should I do it?

The fluid gets exchanged with new fluid....toyota reccomends changing your transmission fluid every 30,000 miles along with your coolant.

Make sure to burp the system if doing it yourself, or it'll give you a lot of problems after you swapping fluids.
