I was puttin a new battery in my pickup and the new battery was opposite of the one that was in it. Of course I should have checked, but being in a hurry i just went to hook the new one up and came up with a major problem.
I cross jumped my Pickup today and instantly all the electrical system except the dome light and headlights are shot. The alternator fuse was blown.. so what are the chances I saved my electrical system and alternator by the fuse blowing? I'm gettin a new one tomorrow to replace it and see, but I was hoping for some experience from you guys on the matter.

50/50 chance....by alternator fuse do you mean the main fuse...if not you might want to check the main fuse, also once the fuse is replaced chances are that you may have destroyed your ECU, somtimes after crossing the cables problems may not surface right away.....
