My truck will not turn over. It tries for a very short time then stops as if something is holding it back. I have replaced the starter, POS cable, and battery as well as visually checked the ground wire. In the beginning the solenoid wire had broke and when trying to remove the stud it snapped off. I replaced the starter and re-crimped a new connector on the solenoid wire. All was fine for about a month, then we had been driving around most the day and parked it in the yard to unload it and it would not start up. It tries briefly but stops. You can see the belts move maybe 4" then stops. The only thing I have not replaced was the ground cable, but it looked OK. I am not sure what would be left after that? Thanks for any help that might be offered.

Voltage Drop test it and see what you come up with

OK did the voltage drop across the battery it was 12.1v with the ignition off. Trying to start it dropped to 4.76v. I then replaced the Neg cable figured why not replaced everything else :-) still 4 or so volts. I then put it on a charge from my car and let it charge for a while thenI was getting a drop to 5 and 6v. After about 20 min it was able to turn over. I got it started.

My next question is do you know of a replacment bracket with a pully for the AC unit? This one has a shot bearing and is really loud. We knew it was going out but now after sitting for a month or so I guess it was pretty rusted. I would like to just install a bracket with a pully to take up the belt slack instead of replacing the AC unit. I have never replaced an AC unit on a F150 and it doesnt look like any fun. Not only do I have limited experience with this I have no idea what it would cost to have it replaced at a shop. Maybe you can help me with an idea of a good guestament in price.

Thanks Nick for the help with the voltage drop it made the difference today.
