I was driving around yesterday when I saw this old Volkswagen Jetta coveered in bumper stickers that said "Biodiesel". I'm just wondering what is biodiesel and where does it come from, is it like soy based gas or something?

Biodiesel is a mixture of a (usually) vegetable-based fuel and regular diesel. The former can be produced from a variety of products such as corn, sugar, soy, to animal fat. The U.S. is currently looking into the production of more biodiesel to 1) less reliance on foreign (i.e., Middle East) oil; 2) less pollution, and 3) lower gasoline costs.
More ethanol, biodiesel mandated by EPA http://blogs.automotive.com/1000860/miscellaneous/more-ethanol-biodiesel-mandated-by-epa/index.html
