Are you happy with your current insurance carrier?
My opinion on insurance carriers, is that you get what you pay for. Sometimes pricier Insurance Carriers offer better claim service, this is true in most casess. I have Mercury Insurance (they are great for my specific needs and limitations,) but there have been many complaints against their claim services such as claims taking too long to be processed, and not being able to reach adjusters. With 4 years of previously working for an insurance company, primarily dealing with Mercury I realize that Insurance Carriers with cheaper rates, often don't end up providing adequate claim services.

Out of the major insurers, I've heard the biggest amount of complaints about Progressive

I personally have AAA and haven't had any problems. I had to make one claim when I was 16 and stupid, and everything was handled pretty well even though the car spent a  week longer in the shop than it should have for whatever reason

When I worked for a brokerage that dealt with Mercury, we encountered a customer who hit and killed a bicyclist, the customer was NOT found at fault. Mercury still held him accountable for paying his deductible of $500 because that is Mercury's rule when there is a death involved (it does not matter if you are not at fault,) the customer was enraged. I just thought it was a joke the fact that he was furious at having to pay his deductible as opposed to the bicyclist he killed. At first I thought it was a little unfair that he had to pay $500 even though he was not found at fault, but the other guy is dead, so that was the cause for my change of mind.

Forget the money. Now they have to live with that on there conscience for the rest of there lives. If I was totally not at fault then I would be knid of mad also. Its not your fault they ran into you.

I have the minimum amount of coverage (liability) which is what the law requires, my car is old 93 Honda Accord, and it is paid off, so it would not make sense to add comp/coll to my coverage. If my car were to be involved in an accident the damages would probably be more than what the car is worth. If you buy your vehicle from a dealership they require you to have full coverage, and if you decide to lease, most dealerships require you to raise your limits of liability. Now I know why people drive around with no car insurance (I would never do it,) but there are many many people who do, which is why it's a good idea to add uninsured motorist to your coverage.

AAA here, I believe it is one of the pricier ones but it is also better.
