Hey Can anyone lead me in the direction that would cause the car on a auto transmission to not shift into fourth gear. Instead it goes into neutral. When overdrive is off car runs fine. Car shifts through on overdrive until about 40 MPH then when it shifts again cuts into neutral or something and wont accelerate. Let me know????

Have you had it scanned for codes? What does the tranny fluid look/smell like?

no i havent and i dont know what type of small to look for. Could it be very major?

Could be something simple or as major as needing a tranny rebuild.I would take it to a reputable shop to have it checked as you will probably cause more damage by driving it.
