I have a 1987 vw, gti that needs to be repainted. Does anyone know a reasonally priced auto body/paint shop in the east bay, of the sf area (oakland, berkeley, concord, ect)? I already have the paint supplies, so all I need is someone to strip it (one little rust spot, a scratch or two, and the paint is starting to chipping alittle), prime it, put acrylic enamel on, and clear coat. I went to get a quote from a auto body place and their price seemed outragous, 900.00, just to strip and paint. But, i think the high price had something to do with me being a women. can anyone give me any advice?
