I bought a new RX350 two week ago. I noticed peeling on the leather drivers seat surface just today.  I inspected it a bit closer and I was able to pull up a quarter size piece of the surface.  It is almost like peeling a thin layer of paint.  Any idea what this is or what might be going on.

I have absolutely noticed a leather problem as well..I miss my old RX 300.

This one "holds onto" all of the smudges and spots..They don't rub off easily like they are supposed to..ANd the carpet as well is not resilient..a little shoe polish mark or rain spots do not lift off.
DOes anyone else have this problem and have any ideas??

I want my old car back..

I have an RX300 and the driver seat ripped along the side panel near the electric controls.  The dealer said the material was defective and repaired it.  A few months later it ripped 4" away from the previous rip. The corner of the seat is also peeling like your.  I am checking if the leather seats are all leather or just the top seating area. I have been told by Lexus corporate custome service rep that she is not sure if the entire seat is leather.

I have a Lexus RX 350 I have also experienced a problem with the drivers seat bottom, including peeling of the top color layer of the leather and also cracking of the leather in several areas along the perforations in the leather. Lexus refuses to acknowledge as a problem, citing  "normal wear" I am in the process of having the leather panel replaced by a leather repair  Co. ar my expense

Connolly Hide Food Leather Conditioner
Over-indulge your leather!

one can usually find this at the parts counter of most Jaguar dealers..

Perhaps the most trusted, reputable name in the leather industry, Wimbledon-based Connolly Leather has gifted leather owners with a magic potion to prevent the aging and deterioration of leather. Connolly Hide Care Leather Conditioner restores leather’s essential moisturizers and protectants in a creamy emulsion of lanolin, white spirit, and natural oils restoring and maintaining the original beauty. Furthermore, Hide Care Leather Conditioner is properly pH balanced to offset the natural alkalinity of leather, and keep it healthy.

Since 1878 Connolly Leather has been at the forefront of the leather industry, supplying superior quality leather to some of the most sought after automotive companies. Jaguar, Ferrari, Bentley and Rolls Royce consider Connolly leather to be the only acceptable leather for their cars. Connolly Leather also graces the seats and interiors of many luxury liners, the British House of Commons and the House of Lords, and the Concorde, when it was still flying. To reach that pinnacle of excellence and maintain it, Connolly Leather had to develop a care regimen that would complement and keep healthy the regal leather for years. So, they developed concentrated Connolly Leather Cleaner and Connolly Hide Care Leather Conditioner, which will without a doubt, maintain, moisturize and protect your leather, thereby extending its life.

Neglected leather will shortly give away its status: Hardening, brittleness, cracking, dryness, fading… the list of traumas goes on. How to avoid this demise? A regular program of cleaning, and more importantly, conditioning will keep the surface as lush and satiny-soft as the day it was born.

Treat your leather as you would your own skin. A good, deep cleaning gentle cleanser like Connolly Leather Cleaner, followed by the best moisturizer to keep the fibers supple, flexible and strong is proper care. Connolly Hide Care provides all the nourishing ingredients required to keep the leather fibers pliable, soft and supple, as well as attractive to gaze upon. Hide Care Leather Conditioner is scientifically formulated to penetrate the porous leather and supply the necessary lubricants to keep it warm and inviting. A protective layer remains on the surface; an enduring “polish” that delivers a pleasing visual finish that begs to be touched.

Connolly Hide Care - Hide FoodFor best results begin a monthly routine of cleaning first with Connolly Leather Cleaner to remove excess dirt and grease. Follow with a nourishing treatment of Connolly’s Hide Care Leather Conditioner formerly called Connolly Hide Food, before the FDA caught wind of it being called food). Apply the Hide Care sparingly with a soft cloth, foam or terry applicator or with your bare hands. Luxury car owners report that massaging Connolly Hide Care into the leather with your hands produces the most satisfactory results. Hide Care needs to bask in the sun all day or absorb into the fibers all night to ensure complete permeation. Buff or wipe the entire surface to remove any excess product, then sit back and enjoy the distinguished luxury of your sensuous leather interior.
