I just bought my second Grand Cherokee Laredo today (a brand new 2006). My 2002 was getting about 17.5 MPG, but it had a 3.7 V6 engine. Now that I have the new one home, I'm panicking that I made a mistake on the bigger engine because of the cost of gas. Does anyone have any real-life MPG averages for this engine that can ease my mind? I love the Jeep because it is loaded with extras and drives like a dream, but will I be kicking myself because of poor mileage? Will I see much difference from 17.5? Thanks.
No worries. You will get nearly the same mileage out of the bigger and better engine.
