Air conditioning worked well when I purchased car about 3 years ago. We use air conditioning sparingly in Northern Sask. as it is fairly cool. However, in the last two years, air conditioner does not engage. Fluid level was checked and it was satisfactory. Mechanic moved wires somehow and it engaged. Occasionally, if one hits just the right bump, air conditioner will engage. By engage, I mean the compressor pulley will start turning. I am not using good terminology here. I don't know where to start. What should be checked on the air conditioning unit. I don't miss it that much, but my wife does.

well I think you need to check the wiring on the compressor for a possible loose connector pin, might also check the pressure switches....and you are sure the refrigerant level is ok....that you didnt check the coolant as they are different...on an LH body it is most likly low and most likly needs and EVAP

Thanks Nick. I will check into that. I had the level checked last summer and it was okay. I had it topped off. but I will try to get the pressure switches checked and the possible loose connector pin. I hope that you are having a nice summer, whereever you are. I will get back to you somehow.
