Is the Lincoln brand finally on its last legs?

"Today, Lincoln stands as a meek shadow of its former self. The Town Car has only been incrementally updated over the past decade and is now badly dated in comparison to its rivals. The new MKS sedan is its ostensible replacement. Many had high hopes for this Volvo-derived newcomer which included its expected unique 60-degree Yamaha-engineered V-8.

But now comes news that Ford may be dropping the V-8 altogether, leaving only the 3.5-liter Duratec V-6 for the brand."

Personally, I like the brand (exception: Town Car). The new offerings look like edgier(sp?) versions of Lexus which is not a bad thing.

Lincoln has changed nothing over the past years, the only car that has kept up with the times, is the navigator which is put to shame by the escalade. im just wondering if the morons at ford are looking next door into cadillacs window, which is becoming better by the day.

I wouldn't say the navigator is put to shame by the escalade, I think the navigator takes a slightly more practical approach. Rather than pumping horsepower into a vehicle that seems built to tip over they decided to pump it full of torque. The result being an SUV that costs less than the Escalade and has a higher max towing capacity.

I'll agree on all other points though, nearly every Lincoln design is either outdated our useless in general.

Ford Motor Co. might disagree with you.

I see no reason to buy one over an Escalade. It really doesn't matter if the Navigator can tow more(its not that much more, btw) because 99% of Navigators/Escalades will never be used to tow anything.

The Navigator has been an also-ran to the Escalade for years now and I don't see it changing any time soon. The product people at FoMoCo really have no idea what they're doing.
