Dear forum: Can anyone say they have replaced a PCV valve on a 2001 Mercury cougar, particularly a 2.5 V6? No-knows where it is, in spite of print-outs from the parts dept. at Ford, the decal under the hood, AND the workshop CD which has only generic information. Not even the techs at Ford, who once told meit was under the intake manifold, which I took off and replaced, with new gaskets, and no PCV valve in sight. I do not think it is under the lower manifold. The decal under the hood has it in line with the vapor management system, somewhere in the middle of the car, or so it seems. What gives? Does anyone kow for sure? I do not have to replace it for another 25,000 miles, but wantto know so I can do it myself. My first estimate at Ford was 2 hours, then four hrs., then they admit to not knowing where it is. The dealerships all have different stories, and none of them agree. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you. R.
