I have a '94 F-250 with a leaky freeze plug. It is on the bottom of the engine and it looks like I can get to it pretty easily. Is there anything special I should about trying to replace it? Or could I possibly get away with cleaning around it really well and trying some good old fashioned JB weld on it?

replacing frost plugs is easy...removed the plug from the engine by punching a hole in the center and using a slide hammer, or whatever tools you may have, next clean the mating surface and install new plug...be sure to test the PH of the coolant to make sure it is ok...frost plugs usually fail due to a ph imbalance or if you are getting an excessive amount of electrolisis...although this is more common on newer fords.

Thank you. I will be giving it a shot this weekend. I think it started to leak because for a long time the radiator was leaking a little and I was only putting water without coolant in it. I replaced the radiator and flushed the system and the leak started. I must have flushed out all of the rust and crap that was holding the water back.
