hi there everyone, im looking to replace the starter on my montero sport. its a two wheel drive 3.0 liter engine. ive never done this before but ive been reading a lot about replacing starters, however, i have yet to find any info pertaining directly to a montero. my question is....is it possible to do this on my own without jackstands or anything of that nature. do any other parts need to be removed to get to the stater? also...does the montero have a stater solenoid that could be replaced first? and last...i know i need to disconnect the battery. a few manuels i read said i needed a battery disconnecter. is it possible to perform this procedure without that tool? any help would be greatly appreciated.
