Hey everybody, just been looking for a new car now, with these sky-rocketing gas prices, and have seen Honda Civic's on carmax.com, and autotrader.com Just wondering how many miles are too many for a Civic to be deemed, "still reliable", so that it won't break down on me. Interested in a 2001 2D coupe, automatic, with 80K miles on it for 9,998. That was on carmax, so im gonna assume they're prices are gonna be higher. Also have seen on autotrader.com, 2001 4D Sedan LX, for 7,998 from a dealer in San Antonio, just hoping to get some advise on that.

My normal rule is no more than 15,000 miles a year, preferably 10,000 a year. Thus, that Civic coupe's mileage barely makes my criteria and only because it's a Honda.
The near 10k price seems reasonable. Here's a link, though, with some more tools to help you determine if the vehicle's okay:

its a Honda so its made in "Heaven". Engine and tranny will be fine, but the body may be a rust bucket depending on where you live....
