I have a new Covertible, GT PT Cruiser.  Turbo engine.
I'm getting an average of 14.9 mpg.
This doesn't seem right for a 4 cyl. car.
Does any one have info on gas mileage for this model?

EPA says 27/21, you must be hammering your pedal at every stoplight, or something is wrong with your car.

your car is rated at 19mpg according the fueleconomy.gov which I believe uses EPA estimates. These numbers are usually optimistic, and it is a real generic number. They don't know what kind of driving you do, your driving habits etc. Fuel quality has dropped the last few months which doesn't help either.

You do have a four cylinder engine, it is bigger than the average 4 banger at 2.4 liters, plus it is forced inductin which means your fuel mileage is going to really depend on your driving style. There are tons of tips out there for optimizing your cars eficiency, look around this site to find a couple threads.

How many miles on the car? It will increase with mileage. What type of driving?

About 800 miles.  Average city/highway.
I get about 18 mpg with my 2002 Lexus LS430 (8 cyl).

stay out of boost as much as you can (light foot) and you should see higher numbers

New cars tend to get lower mileage during their break-in period, so you can expect some improvement after adding some more miles on the car.

if you are really worried about fuel economy, drive like an old lady (crawl forward and slowly build up to the speed limit from stops, dont pounce on the breaks, etc etc) personally, i dont sweat it
