306 ponies will power the upcoming sedan. Interesting, there's a G37 in the works:

a little more power under the hood is never a bad thing =]  i can't wait til the new G35 comes out, it really looks sleek, and as for the G37, that'll be even better @_@

The HP war in this catergory is going to get ugly. Nissan is bumping up their HP a little bit, but BMW is going to a twin turbo 6, that is rated at a typically BMW conservative 300hp. Most pepople will realise how much is available with the BMW with just a chip. So now Nissan will have to do soemthing ot compete.

Unfortunately HP numbers are very important in this catergory. When I was selling BMWs people would come in and say how they were also considering a Lexus because it had 15 more HP. I would generaly reply with a smart-a-s-s remark like, "Yeah that will really come in handy when you have to street race Vin Diesel, but do you want to put up with an inferior car for the rest of the four years you will own it" Then I would explain how (at the time) the Japanese manufacturers rated their engines at different standards than the Germans, so just because it was rated at more HP didn't necessarily mean the car was more powerful.

It'll actually be pretty impressive - www.VQ35HR.com has some stats and info on the new engine.

Incidentally, the new BMW is going to need a few more ponies to keep up!

might want to check out the 2003 g35 blogs on battery drain before purchasing a 2007. Has this problem(s) been resolved in the newer models? Looks like the issue is just presenting itself after 3-4 years.
